This past weekend 60 anglers from throughout Ontario competed in the 17th annual MacDonald Turkey Point Marina Charity Bass Tournament benefiting the London Children’s Health Foundation. This year’s charitable campaign and tournament has raised $9,000 and counting which brings the seventeen year grand total to $113,342 and counting.
Taking home the John Johnson and Madison Thomson memorial Bass Tournament championship trophies are this year’s winners Danny & Marilyn Adam with a total weight of 16.07 pounds with 5 large mouth bass. Danny and Marilyn are also the big fish prize winners with a large mouth bass weighing in at 4.9 lbs. Great job! Thank you to Steve Moore, McCormick Canada, John Weerdenberg, all the participants, the sponsors and the volunteers, as these efforts could not be achieved over the past 17 years without your valued support. Thanks also goes to Jason Barnucz for being our weigh-master and L.P.A.A. for their generous donation of the scales and live release boat.
Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets for the 50/50 contest draw and participated in the auctions for the BBQ and handmade cutting boards. Congratulations to 50/50 winner Doug Moore and BBQ winners Paul and Janet Johnston. To all who joined us Labour Day Sunday to listen to the great music performed by local artists, Route 6, Caterwal and Andy and the Invisibles your donations were greatly appreciated.
On behalf of the Thomson family and all MacDonald Turkey Point Marina staff, Thank you for all your support and we look forward to next year’s events.
